Important Update to Studio Policy

Image
Piano teaching is my passion.  It's also my livelihood.  That's why I have a studio policy in place. It's a fairly straightforward policy, simple and flexible, but it ensures that there is clear communication between my customers and I regarding payment.  But recently I discovered that there's one important thing missing in my policy: what my policy is when a student decides, mid-semester, that they no longer want to do piano.  As of today, that clause is being added in:  Should the student decide to quit piano mid-semester, for any reason, I require a lump sum payment for the remainder of the semester, no exceptions.    Right now, I would very much like to go on a rant for all the reasons you shouldn't let your budding pianist quit mid-semester. But I'll save it for another day, and give you a link to a previous blogpost instead:  "Go do your piano practice!" And a post from a different blogger, a dynamic duo who are parents, piano teacher...
